Miles Conant was born and raised in Wilmette, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. While it was an idyllic milieu for childhood and adolescence, he wished to explore new areas. Upon completion of high school, Miles ventured to the scenic Hudson Valley to study Psychology at Bard College. Bard offered an environment that sparked creativity and fostered intellectual curiosity. In search of a new experience, Miles joined the Peace Corps where he served as a Preventative Health Educator in Senegal, West Africa. While living in a remote village of 500 people, he worked with community members to improve sanitation, establish a community garden, and acted as the coordinator for region-wide race to raise money for girls’ education. This experience really left an imprint on Miles. Therefore, he passion for community to help move the mission of I Am We.
